Who we are
We’re a family who laughs when the goats interrupt, who can’t keep the ducks quiet, and who thinks a little dirt and wild hair make the best photos. We believe in imperfect beauty, genuine smiles, small hands sharing marshmallows, and the quiet awe of watching sparks dance into the night sky.
We started Root & Roam Collective after one too many stressful family photo sessions. The kind with matching outfits, forced smiles, and kids who just wanted to run free. Somewhere between trying to get the perfect shot and bribing toddlers with snacks, we realized that’s not who we are and that the memories behind the photos weren’t ones we cherished.
Root & Roam Collective is our way of creating space for the kind of beauty that is created when nature, animals, and storytelling come together. We want families to relax and connect, photographers to find inspiration, and everyone to leave feeling a little more grounded, a little more themselves.
